Psychotherapy is a therapeutic process that involves talking with a trained professional to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It helps individuals address emotional difficulties, mental health conditions, and personal challenges, fostering greater self-awareness and healthier coping strategies.
Your first session, often referred to as an initial consultation, is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and what you hope to achieve through our sessions. This is also a time to ask any questions you may have about the process, fees, or anything else on your mind.
Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes. This is standard for both in-person and online sessions.
The frequency of sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Typically, sessions are held once a week, but this can be increased based on our discussion during the initial consultation or during the therapeutic process.
Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of psychotherapy. Everything you share during our sessions is kept private and confidential. The only exceptions are if there is a legal obligation to disclose information, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.
The fee for the initial consultation is paid in advance. For ongoing sessions, fees are billed monthly, and payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. We will discuss and agree on payment methods and terms during the initial consultation.
If you need to cancel a session, please do so as early as possible. However, please note that fees are still payable for all scheduled sessions, even if canceled in advance. If I need to cancel a session, you will not be charged, and no fees are applied during therapist-arranged holiday breaks.
